Introducing Fein: always know, without asking.

A private location-sharing app for families, friends and colleagues, built for a time when the answer should come to you without asking, with privacy and simple controls in return.

Built for how people live now

Fein starts from a simple observation. Most of the messages in a family or friends chat are the same question, asked again and again: where are you? Did you arrive? Are you on your way? In a time when everything else reaches us on its own, that answer should be delivered too, not asked for. And the people being asked are tired of answering.

At the same time, nobody wants to be watched. So Fein is built the other way round from a tracker: you share your location with the people you choose, because you chose to, and you can pause or stop at any time. Everyone in a group knows who is in it. There is no secret monitoring.

Families: plans that need keeping

Family life is full of responsibilities that run on a clock. School on time. University on time. The yoga session, the Pilates class, the training that someone promised to attend, the after-school activity that happens every Tuesday, or doesn’t.

Fein gives each of these a Place. Save the school, the gym or the studio once, and Fein tells you the moment someone arrives or leaves, with the time. You choose which Places alert you and for whom, person by person, so the people who matter are informed and nobody else is. A No Show alert tells you if someone isn’t at a place by a time you set, on the days you choose. And a single check-in says “I’m here” when there is nothing more to add.

All of it runs on the phone your child already carries. There is no extra hardware to buy, no tag to attach, nothing else to charge. The phone that is in their pocket anyway is the best tool there is to know they are okay, and that they are where they are supposed to be, at the right time and the right place.

Friends: the regular updates, without the texting

Friends share a lot: where they are, what they’re up to, the trip this weekend, the activity on Thursday. And then there is the closed group you meet regularly, where everyone wants to know who has left, who is close and who is late, without the usual round of messages asking.

In Fein, each of these is its own group, with its own map and its own chat. Make one for the trip, one for the people you train with, one for the group that meets every week. Share your location with one and not another. When the trip is over, leave the group, and that sharing ends with it.

Nobody has just one group. There is the family, the friends, the people you train with, the colleagues, the trip next month, and Fein is built for all of them at once. Making a group costs nothing, and you can be in as many as you need. A group for a trip or a one-off activity can have an end time you choose, so it is there while you need it and gone when you don’t. That is easier than asking all the time, and more private than sharing your location through apps that were never built for it.

Colleagues, too

The same works at work. Colleagues who commute together. A team on a special project or a particular task. A business trip where a few people move around a city for a week. A group for each of them, and no more than that: your colleagues see what you share with that group, and only while you share it.

Driving, kindly

For the people closest to you, Fein also keeps a driving report: distance, top speed, and the moments that matter, such as speeding, hard braking, rapid acceleration and a phone picked up on the move. It is made to start a conversation, not to score anyone, and it works on your own drives too. Sometimes the most useful thing a report does is make you look at your own habits.

It isn’t only about the drives you take yourself. The people you love are often in someone else’s car: the school bus, a taxi, a lift from a friend, the family’s own driver. Their phone records that ride like any other trip, with the speed along it, and it shows in their timeline, so you know how the ride went and not only that it ended. A personal driver can be in a group of their own, with Fein on their phone, and their drives show up like anyone else’s. And when you were the passenger, say so: a passenger trip isn’t scored against you.

When something goes wrong

A flat tyre. A dead battery. A breakdown on the motorway. An accident. In those moments you need the people you already trust with your location, and you need them without typing. Hold SOS and Fein alerts your family, friends and colleagues with your live location, and their replies come back as they come in, including a simple “I’m coming” from whoever is on the way.

If none of them is on the way within 60 seconds, Fein texts your emergency contact your name and last known location. Fein never contacts police, ambulance or fire services: for those, dial your local emergency number, and the SOS screen can open your phone’s dialler for you.

Private by default

Your location goes only to the people you share it with. Pause whenever you like: new updates stop and your last location stays, so nobody is left guessing. Your movement timeline clears itself after 30 days. Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest. Fein shows no ads and sells no data. All of it is in plain words on our Trust & Safety page.

Fein is in Arabic and English, right to left from the first screen. It has a Free plan with live location, Places, trips and driving reports, chat, SOS and a 30-day timeline. Fein is published by Yada Investments L.L.C in Abu Dhabi.
